Archery Practice
With the opening of archery seasons just a little over two months away, it is time to start practicing if you haven't already. If you have been away from your bow for a while, you will need to time to retrain your muscles. Developing good muscle memory is important for a consitent shot. You will want to ensure that you are not drawing too much weight as well. If you live in a region that will experience some big temperature drops throughout the season, make sure that you are not straining to draw your bow now. The colder weather will stiffen your limbs, botn on your bow and on your body. That bow can be much tougher to draw on those cold weather days. Make sure you take this into account and leave yourself some room to work with.
If your bow isn't shooting dead on at first, resist the temptation to start fine tuning it right away. Your bow may not be off, it might just be you. As long as you are hitting the target, keep shooting until you have retrained those shoulder muscles. Make sure you are finding a consistent anchor point at full draw. You may find that your muscles start to 'gas' by the end of your initial practice sessions of the season. This is a tell tale sign that you are needing to regain that strength. Once you regain that strength, and find yourself holding consistent 3 shot groups, only then start fine tuning your pins. This can help to save you some needless frustration.
